A Day at a British Primary School
British primary schools start at around 9am and finish at 3:30pm. During the day, children have different subjects like English, maths, science, and PE (that's sport!). There's a break time in the morning and a lunch break at midday. Most children eat in the school canteen or bring a packed lunch from home. School is fun — there's lots of learning AND playing! 📚⚽

Sam: What's your favourite subject?
Elif: I really love art — we get to paint and draw. What about you?
Sam: Science, definitely! We're doing experiments with volcanoes this week.
Elif: That sounds amazing! What time do you have science?
Sam: On Wednesdays, after break time. I check my timetable every Sunday night.
Elif: Do you have homework every day?
Sam: Not every day. I usually get maths homework on Mondays and English on Thursdays.
Elif: I hate maths homework! But I like our teacher — she makes it fun.
Sam: Same! Are you having a packed lunch today?
Elif: Yes — Mum made me a cheese sandwich and an apple. What about you?
Sam: School dinner for me. It's pizza today, so I'm happy!
Elif: Lucky! We have assembly next, we'd better hurry!

School Uniforms in Britain! 👔
Did you know that almost all children in Britain wear a school uniform? Boys usually wear trousers, a shirt, and a jumper. Girls wear skirts, trousers, or summer dresses. Every school has its own colours and a special badge. Wearing a uniform means everyone looks the same, so you don't have to worry about choosing clothes in the morning! Some schools even have special ties.
