Use possessive adjectives (my, your, his, her, our, their), the possessive 's, and 'whose' confidently. Turkish marks possession with suffixes, so this fixes the dropped 'my/your' habit.

Whose Coat Is This?
In a British office, you'll hear possessives constantly: 'Is this your mug?', 'That's Sarah's desk', 'Whose umbrella is this?' English puts a separate word — my, your, his, her — BEFORE the noun, and it can never be left out. Unlike Turkish, which uses suffixes at the end of words, English requires these small words to show ownership. There's even a national institution built on possessives: the lost property office, where 'Whose is this?' is the question of the day.
